Songwriter's Monthly, April '11 #135
Three girls walk into a bar . . . No, it’s not the beginning of some joke, it’s the beginning of a night to remember. Cheryl Lynn and Stephanie Spinner along with Megan Battaglia are the two brunettes and a blonde who comprise the core of Spinn, the dynamic acoustic rock band driven by superb three-part harmonies. And, they might not walk into the bar as much as they dash in on three and a half inch heels lugging equipment. Their current album is entitled She Was Heartache.
Songwriter’s Monthly recently engaged in an early morning, sugar-and-Mountain-Dew-fueled phone conversation with all three of these dazzling individuals. Even at the much-too-early hour, the girls’ energy, charm and sparkle was simply off the charts!

From start to finish “She was Heartache” is an impressive catalogue of music. The music is highly original, uplifting, & extremely entertaining. Note for note, song for song there isn’t really weak piece on this entire catalogue. The writing & playing abilities of this 6 piece are rock solid, the melodies & harmonies are well crafted, & the lyrical content is amazing. Like the aforementioned I really enjoyed the low end rock groove on a lot of the songs. Last but not least the vocal presence from these 3 girls is world-class. They compliment each other extremely well. All in all - “She Was Heartache” shows a lot of potential. I just wish there were maybe 4 or 5 more songs on this catalogue. If there were – would no doubt render stars. I look forward to hearing more material from Spinn soon.

Lindsay Klein interviews the lovely ladies of SPINN
Posted 9/13/2010 4:03:00 PM
Megan and the lovely Spinner sisters came in finally for a WDHA interview and we had a BLAST! I finally got to meet Cheryl and Stephanie and this interview was one of the most enjoyable ones I've had yet! I know women know how to talk, but all we did was laugh and smile and I had no problem getting these ladies to share their band's information with me! It was sooo much fun! The shot glasses and adoreable Tshirt they gave me was the icing on the cake of course! Thank you so much ladies again for making me laugh and being so full of energy and life!!!
Spinn's sound is a combination of folk, country, rock and pop! They bring in Steve DeSteno on guitar and Dominick Velardo on percussion while all three ladies harmonize on the microphone for the sweet sound of Spinn!
